January 2010: 12 physicians from Riverhills named Top Docs in Cincinnati Magazine...

Riverhills Healthcare is proud to report that 12 of its physicians were named to Cincinnati eMagazine's Top Doctors list for 2009. Cincinnati Magazine sent surveys to 5,297 physicians in Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana. The survey question was simple, "who would they turn to if they, a family member, or a friend needed medical attention." The result: a short list of 571 physicians in 42 specialties with each physician receiving a minimum of 5 votes.

September 2009: Gregory A. Howes, DO, joins Riverhills Neurosurgery Division...

Riverhills Neurosurgery Division welcomes Gregory A. Howes, DO, to Riverhills. Dr. Howes is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Association and will practice from the Montgomery location. A graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia (2001), Dr. Howes was a Resident (Neurosurgery 2007) at the Bromenn Medical Center/Central Illinois and the Neuroscience Foundation in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois. He was a Fellow (Functional Neurosurgery 2008) at Stanford University, California. Functional Neurosurgery is the treatment of conditions where central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) function is abnormal although the structure or anatomy is normal. Dr. Howes also has expertise in the areas of General Neurosurgery, Degenerative Spine Conditions, Cranial Neurosurgery, and surgical treatment of movement disorders and pain. August 2009: Riverhills GOES GREEN with an new Electronic Medical Records system...

Riverhills Healthcare, Inc. GOES GREEN! We have purchased a new Electronic Medical Record system (EMR) called Greenway PrimeSuite.

Greenway PrimeSuite is an integrated EMR and practice management system. In early 2009, Riverhills transitioned its practice management system onto Greenway and for the past several months has been working diligently to prepare for implementation of the EMR. At this time, it is anticipated that the RHI practice located in Mt. Auburn will GO LIVE before the end of 2009, with the Northern Kentucky and Montgomery offices to follow soon thereafter.

This EMR system will help the physicians and Riverhills to improve the patient experience and allow the physicians to work more efficiently.

Cincinnati Magazine sent surveys to 5,137 physicians in Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana. The survey question was simple, "who would they turn to if they, a family member, or a friend needed medical attention." The result? A short list of 385 physicians in 42 specialties with each physician receiving a minimum of 5 votes. Congratulations to the Riverhills physicians who made this coveted list, once again showing that Riverhills' physicians are among the very best in the region.

December 2007: Ty D. Brown, MD joins Northern Kentucky Neurologists...
Riverhills Healthcare welcomes TY D. Brown, MD to the practice. Dr. Brown will practice from the Northern Kentucky office and has expertise in Epilepsy, Stroke and General Adult Neurology. Dr. Brown is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed residencies in Psychiatry (2003), Neurology (2003-2006), and Internal Medicine (2003) at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Brown also completed his Fellowship in Epilepsy at the University of Cincinnati and received his Doctor of Medicine from Washington University in 2002. Dr. Brown can be reached at 859-341-4266.

August 2007: Neurologist Brian N. Maddux, MD, PhD has joined Riverhills and will practice from the Montgomery office...
Riverhills is pleased to announce that Brian N. Maddux, MD, PhD, a Board Certified Neurologist, has joined the practice. With expertise in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease, Movement Disorders, and in the use of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), and Botulinum Toxin Injections, Dr. Maddux brings an added dimension to the comprehensive service approach of Riverhills. Prior to joining Riverhills, Dr. Maddux was an integral part of a team at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospital's Case Medical Center (in Cleveland) that is leading research in the use of Deep Brain Stimulation for the treatment of Tourette syndrome. He received his Doctor of Medicine from UT Southwestern Medical School (1992) Dallas, Texas and his Fellowship in Movement Disorders, Neurology (1997-1998), at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Maddux will practice primarily from the Montgomery office but will also see patients at the Mt. Airy, Mt. Auburn, and Crestview Hills offices. Call 513-791-8080 to make an appointment.

June 2007: Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Jeanne T. Schmerler, joins Riverhills Healthcare...
Licensed by the (Ohio) State Board of Psychology, Dr. Jeanne T. Schmerler has expertise in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology: assessment of cognitive dysfunction due to dementia, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, tumors, and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). Dr. Schmerler received her Doctor in Psychology from Xavier University (2003), Cincinnati, Ohio and completed her Post Doctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology at the Drake Center. Riverhills Healthcare has long had an office in the Mercy-Anderson complex, 8000 Five Mile Road, Ste. 330, where two neurologists, Dr. Maureen Li and Dr. James J. Anthony have regular office hours. In March 2007, Riverhills Healthcare was pleased to open another office in the same building at 8000 Five Mile Road, Ste. 112 where P.
