Our People - Jonathan A. Borden, MD, FACS, Neurosurgeon

A highly experienced neurosurgeon, Dr. Borden has developed novel, minimally invasive treatments for spine conditions. Dr. Borden is the primary investigator for several national FDA-IDE studies. His research includes new treatment involving growth factors and stem cell therapies for disc regeneration, as well as new minimally invasive and motion preserving surgeries. Dr. Borden was the Director of the Boston Gamma Knife Center where he developed expertise in tumors involving the optic nerves and chiasm.

While on the faculty at Tufts in Boston, he developed what is now known as the "Borden Classification" of dural arteriovenous malformations or fistulas of the brain and spine. He has leveraged new minimally invasive treatments for brain, cranial nerve, and spinal conditions.
